Cheap Flights From Lithuania

Considering that, since FlyLAL went bust, there is no national airline, flights to and from Vilnius remain suprisingly inexpensive.

What is inexpensive? I consider 100-200 euro for a non-stop round trip flights to European Hubs such as Amsterdam, Brussels, Milan etc, very inexpensive.

Amazing but true. Several low costs airlines are flying non-stop from Vilnius Airport including: Air Baltic, Star 1, Brussels Airlines, Lot, Estonian Air, Aer Lingus and Czech Air. All of these are excellent airlines with offering low price fares to popular destinations. And if you really want to save money, consider taking the trek to Kaunas and flying with the king of low cost airlines Ryan Air.

In addition to those low cost airlines and some charter airlines, there are a few high price airlines such as Lufthansa. But why would you fly with Lufthansa when you can fly with a low priced airline for half the price? Only if your business is footing the bill.

Flignts to Lithuania are so cheap that if you are flying to a high priced destinations such as Minsk, Belarus, you should consider flying into Vilnius and taking the train to Minsk. The money you save will be considerable and since the train to Minsk is only 4 hours, costs around 10 euro and it leaves you in the center of the city compared to an expensive 1 hour taxi ride from the center, for many it will be worth while.
